  • I don't want to spoil you right away on what my garment would literally look like, well of course I want everyone to look forward in seeing my collection. but still, here's a sneal peak of my garments and now my models wearing them.

But sadly, you wont see everything on the runway. I will only choose my top 3 looks!
I know you all have an idea on what my collection would look like but still, its better to see it clearly rather than imagining it.

  • Since you all know what inspired me in creating my collection, and since its just a few days before our graduation showcase, I'm going to show you my sketches and a sneak peak of my collection.

I chose the colors Red,Blue,Teal,Black and Grey. As you can see in my drawings I also got inspired by the japan glad and decided to split in into two and attach one semi circle for the top and another one for the bottom.

Tulips. Tulips. Tulips. Yes another inspiration was the tulip flower. I decided to have different variations of the skirts length and one pants to balance the collection.

For the sleeves, I want to showcase the different types of kimono well as for me. no 2 sleeves a like each is different.

I chose the print to be the most cohesive in my collection so that I can still play more with colors and my collection will not look as plain.

SIMPPLE AND ELEGANT was my main target for my collection.

A little sneak peak of my actual garments. see this on the runway on April 25, 2015!

  • In creating our collection, of course everyone has his/her own "Inspiration" by inspiration I don't mean the things that inspired you do to a design itself. but the Person who inspired you. well for me its Georgio Armani, alteast for the Fashion Designer basis.

His works, made me realize that RTW clothes can be as good as Couture Gowns. Its just on how you were able to create the garment neatly, clean and elegant as possible. Creating RTW clothes can be very tricky cause we all know that they're as simple as it can be. its up to you on how to make it look appealing.

Just remember this, actually just one part of the garment.. and you'll see where I got my inspiration for my somewhat details for my collection.

I don't want my design to look somewhat Georgio Armani because, of course I want to have my own name someday.

Armani's Design can look simple at times but his prints are the best. and I don't know whats with a dress that makes it an GEORGIO ARMANI, it just screams his name effortlessly.

I wanted to my collection to somewhat look like this. not that I wanted to really copy this concept, but I wanted it to look formal, dainty but with a bit edgy. My collection is a bit simple cause I wanted it too look that way, I don't want my collection to be that labored just because its the last and not because I'm competing with other Aspiring Designers. I want to showcase what I can do in this industry and prove to anyone that being simple doesn't bring you down.

For the other parts of my garment I want something flowy yet structured. yes a bit tricky but I the answer to that is just the FABRIC itself. I made it look really a "Japanese-ish" cause yes, Japan really inspired me in doing this collection.

Georgio Armani was one of Fashion Designers that really caught my eye. He really creates good and beautiful clothes. Simple may be the word for it but its really elegant.

  • When I heard "Tribal" was on my list, I thought about of course the tribe itself, but I don't want to be that tribe-ish for my collection.

    credits to Wikipedia..
A tribe is a distinct people, dependent on their land for their livelihood, who are largely self-sufficient, and not integrated into the national society. It is perhaps the term most readily understood and used by the general public.

so I searched more and more. I've got this tribal brand, which they design this patterns? I think, you'll see this more in boracay, well as a henna tattoo tho, mostly guys pick this.

but I wasn't that satisfied with it. so then I again I searched.

I tried "Tribal Prints" and then aztec prints all over my screen, at first I was like "meh, too colorful" but I still saved a few photos for references.

Then I decided to just put tribal prints on my garment, well not the colorful one, I don't really like prints that much, so why would I even bother choose the colorful one right?

I had a hard time picking printed fabrics that will pass my standards and of course thats close  to my "references" I took a lot of fabric swatches and photos, it took me a week to decided which one actually.

but ofcourse, I'll leave you guys hangging. and yes by this time I'm already doing my collection and still, I wont give a sneak pick of it.

    soon! I will. :)

  • In line with my previous post Starting Point I was telling you about the things or the categories I should start of in creating my designs.

as for me I don't want to release my designs just yet, I want you all guys to wait for "the day". so its to be a surprise!

but for you to understand where I'm coming from once you see my collection. here's a bit of a tiny detail about the inspirations I have in hand.

Actually, I forgot to tell you that we MUST also design clothes that are Asian Inspired. so to cut short we have to pick one country.

I chose this country not because I just wanted to do so. it doesn't have any significant meaning but this country was introduced to me since I was a kid. So I was kind of familiar about that country, it may not be specific, I may not have been there but this country but I'm sure this is one of the prettiest country that I want to go to.

Well, yes I know some other designers would choose this as well but that wont stop me in doing what I want or what my heart wants. I'd rather choose a country that I'm comfortable with rather than a country that I barely know, yes I know its worth the risk, its worth the try. but I'd rather be sure and be cofident defending it rather than making things up.

    File:Ginza at Night, Tokyo.jpg
I know if we all think about this country which I know, even though I don't name it, you know it. we all think about the traditional, but this country speaks more, I mean a lot more. Watching movies especially The Fast and The Furious Tokyo Drift made me love the country even more, and me wanting to got there even more. Before I used to think about this country more like of the tradional, like praying, white faces with red lips, offering stuffs and that. but this movie made me realize that Japan is a lot more of what people think. Because of this it did encourage me to well yes, choose this country.

Well this is just one of the inspirations I have, I don't want to bore you guys this a very long blogpost, I would be too draggy and I hate draggy! haha! and yes, I want you to want for more.

    Till next!

  • As a Senior Fashion student we have to come up with our very first collection that will be showcased on our Graduation Show is April.
every student has to pick a number/group from a box, well we don't get to choose what number we want so you're lucky if you were able to get what you want.
each number/group has its own category.
as for me I got this. and yes you have to guess each picture. but its like I'm not going to say it, but hey! its worth the fun.

    Its pretty obvious. haha
Clue : an event before the I Do's

This is a bit hard to explain.
    Clue: Season/s
That's all I can give just not to be blunt.

Commonly you would say "aztec" but no.
    Clue: Roots in colonialism

its an interior design, yes. but what "feels" does it have?
    clue: century

its a house yes, but not just a house, what kind is it?
clue: more likely a rest house

its not a cruise.. well its obvious. haha
    clue: water transportation
    lame clue, I know.

    so got any answers?
see if you got it all right!
    1. Engagement
    2.Autumn-Winter
    3.Tribal
    4.Old World Chic
    5.Villa
    6.Yacht

So there! I have to start with all this. An Engagement party during Autumn-Winter in a villa/yatch (well I'm not really sure where it is going to be held since the last time I talked to the people who got the same number/group as me we change the venue to a villa/resort. but I kinda went with a bit of a villa that can still be worn on a yacht. its kind of you'll decided once you see it, and I'll keep you posted!) with a tribal and old world theme.

    Till next!

  • Well, I don't even plan on doing a blog post about me but I just know I had to, cause I'll be posting updates about my upcoming collection, this is just to know me even more so that you'll understand why I came up with such. and my previous blog doesn't say much about me..

    so here it goes.

Carlotta Gonzales also known as Adi/Lotta is a 21 years old Senior Fashion student at De La Salle- College of Saint Benilde. She likes to attend events as what her old blogs yells, travel to places she hasn't been to, creating memories that could cherish a lifetime, exploring new things to gain more ideas and she likes making friends and tries her best to be more open about everything.

Adi has a very tight schedule not just because she has school to attend, plates to finish, projects to pass but she is also a YFC Chapter Head at North B-5 Kamias Chapter. she has been with YFC since 2011 but she became a chapter head last 2013. she may have a busy schedule but she makes sure that school is still her priority.

Going back to Adi being a Fashion Student she likes to design clothes that are simple yet elegant, actually she likes to focus more on gowns rather than RTW, and you'll be surprised on what she'll do for her collection. as I was saying, adi likes clothes that are "business at the front, party at the back" well you guys know what that means, right?

Adi started designing since she was in 2nd yr high school where she won the best cheerdancing outfit. She got really inspired when she received the award, it was well, a stepping stone for her. she then started designing her own dresses and dreams one day she'll make it to a "real life" dress.

when she started blogging last 2012 she got invited to events, you can check them out here Living the Life but since school was eating up her time she wasn't able to continue blogging and attend events that she was invited to.

Adi had a ups and downs, friends were lost, family problems, issues, love problems, things she thinks she can't handle, had frustrations and a lot more. but still she doesn't give up because she trusts God more than anyone else.

Being friends with Adi as what other would say could be really fun, she can hang out with anyone and knows how to handle different kinds of people. She as what they said can easily adapt. She may be quiet at times but its her way of reading people so that she knows how to approach them.

Her high school year book describes her as "tough and meticulous." which if you truly know her you would agree as well. you can reach her and ask her anything at:
